Operation
Attention!
When selecting the rivet nut / bolt to be set, ensure
that the required grip range is met with respect to
the workpiece.
Otherwise, correct fastening cannot be guaran-
teed.
Inserting the threaded mandrel [g. I]
▸ Screw the appropriate mouthpiece [8] plus lock
nut [7] into the front threaded sleeve and insert
the threaded mandrel from the rear into the setting
tool.
Initial position of the tool [g. II]
▸ In the initial position push the rocker switch [3]
upwards.
▸ If the scale [2] is not in the zero position, turn
the rear lever [4]clockwise to set the scale [2] to
zero. When doing so, ensure that both levers are
parallel to each other.
Loading a rivet nut / bolt [g. II]
▸ Screw the rivet nut / bolt completely onto the
threaded mandrel [1].
The rearmost thread [X] of the
mandrel must be visible at the
front edge of the rivet nut.
▸ Fix the mouthpiece [8] with the lock nut [7].
Determining the stroke
The correct stroke is best determined by
reading the value from the scale during
a trial run on a test workpiece.
Set the stroke to zero after each setting
process. In this process the stroke determined in trial
can be used as the working stroke.
The stroke is equal to the maximum grip range [Y]
of the rivet nut / bolt minus the material thick-
ness [Z] of the workpiece.
The maximum grip range of the rivet nut / bolt can
be found in the product information for the rivet nut
/ bolt being used.
Tightening [g. III]
▸ When doing so, ensure that the toggle switch [3]
is in the initial position
.
▸ Insert the blind-rivet nut / bolt in the prepared
workpiece
.
▸ Press the levers [4]/[5] apart from each other
using both hands
and monitor the scale.
▸ Tighten the rivet nut / bolt until the previously
calculated stroke is reached.
