6. Check the main switch.
a. Turn the main switch to “ON” from
“OFF” then to “START.” The starter
motor turns over, then the engine will
start.
b. Turn the main switch to “OFF” from
“ON.” The running engine should stop.
7. Check the engine stop switch.
a. Run the engine.
b. Pull the lanyard off the lock plate. The
running engine will stop.
8. Check for steady engine speed.
a. Run the engine at idle.
b. Steer the tiller handle.
c. Tilt up/down the tiller handle. Make sure a
steady engine speed is kept.
