4. To remove the bracket on the control panel
that holds the control cables, remove the two
screws (with washer), fitting plate, and then
the bracket. Also, remove the emergency stop
switch.
5. To remove the tiller handle, remove the ring
nut as follows: Turn the handle backwards,
and fit a slotted-head screwdriver into the slit
in the ring nut. Using the steering bracket as
a fulcrum, turn the steering handle forward to
loosen the ring nut.
NOTE: This procedure may need to be repeated
several times for the ring nut to come off.
6. Remove the wave washer, the washer, and the
steering handle assembly. To remove the
cables from the ring nut, route the cable ends
through the slit in the ring nut. Remove the
bushing.
7. Unbolt the steering handle 2 from steering
handle 1 as shown below.
