Outboard Rigging Guide - 2001
3. Precautions when routing cables
When rigging the second station, pass each
cable and wire harness up through the pipe as
illustrated below.
Wire harness:
1 Pass a rope through the pipe and tie it to
the wire harness.
Remove the bullet terminals at the front of
the wire harness and remove the connec-
tors.
2 Wrap the end of the wire harness with tape
to keep it from being caught in the pipe.
3 Pull the rope gently so that the wire har-
ness will not catch inside the pipe.
4 Connect the bullet terminals as they were
originally.
Remote control cable:
1 Attach a cable end piece to the end of the
cable.
NOTE:
The end piece should be screwed in at least
8mm.
2 Pull the cable gently, just as you did with
the wire harness.
NOTE:
The cable should be bent as little as possible.
No more than three bends at a right angle
(200mm in radius) are allowed.
3 Tie the rope around the end of the steering
cable and pull it gently through the pipe.
