1. Check:
• Start in gear protection
2. Check:
• Main switch
3. Check:
• Engine stop switch
4. Check:
• Steady engine speed
Checking steps:
• Shift in forward/reverse.
• Turn the key to “START.”
→ The starting motor will not be turned.
• Shift in neutral.
• Turn the key to “START.”
→ The starting motor will be turned.
Checking steps:
• Turn the main switch to “ON” from “OFF”
then to “START.”
→ The starting motor is turned then the
engine will be started.
• Turn the main switch to “OFF” from “ON”.
→ The running engine will be stopped.
Checking steps:
• Run the engine.
• Pull the lanyard and off the lock plate.
→ The running engine will be stopped.
Checking steps:
• Run the engine in idling.
• Steer the tiller handle.
• Tilt up/down the tiller handle.
→ Steady engine speed is kept.
Checking steps:
• Turn the main switch to “ON.”
• Push and hold the switch,
“UP” → The motor will tilt up.
“DN” → The motor will tilt down.
• Release the switch.
→ The motor will stop its current posi-
tion.
