2. Remove the three bolts holding the manual
starter assembly and lift off the assembly.
3. Remove the tool kit from its holder. Remove
the holder from the powerhead.
4. Disconnect the choke linkage by pulling it
out of the holder. Also, remove the fuel line at
the inside of the front panel.
5. Remove the three screws holding the front
panel. Pull the panel out to gain access to the
carburetor mounting screws.
6. Disconnect the carburetor linkage. Remove
the two carburetor mounting bolts. Remove
the carburetor and air box.
7. Remove the two bolts and the screw which
hold the shift shaft lever to the bottom cowl-
ing. Install the shift rod lever 2 with the cot-
ter pin on the port side. Reinstall the two bolts
and screw.
8. Install the neutral switch to the stay as shown.
NOTE:The neutral switch will be easier to install
if the shift handle is in the “FORWARD” position.
