THROTTLE CABLE FREE PLAY
ADJUSTMENT
NOTE:
Adjust the throttle cable free play while the cable is
in the cable guide.
1.Measure:
• Throttle cable free play a
Out of specification → Adjust.
2.Adjust:
• Throttle cable free play
Throttle body side adjustment steps:
• Remove the left side cover.
Refer to “COVERS” in CHAPTER 3.
• Loosen the locknut 1.
• Turn the adjusting nut 2 in direction a or b
until the specified free play is obtained.
• Tighten the locknut.
NOTE:
If the specified throttle cable free play cannot be
obtained on the throttle body side of the cable, use
the adjusting nut on the handlebar side.
Handlebar side adjustment steps:
• Slide back the rubber cover.
• Loosen the locknut 1.
• Turn the adjusting nut 2 in direction a or b
until the specified free play is obtained.
• Tighten the locknut.
• Slide the rubber cover to its original position.
NOTE:
After adjusting the free play, turn the handlebar to
right and left, and make sure that the engine idling
does not run faster.
Throttle cable free play:
3.0 ~ 4.0 mm (0.12 ~ 0.16 in)
