Maintaining the Cutting Blade
9 - 5
Figure 9.5 Aligning the Blade with Conditioner Runners
Procedure for Setting Blade Angle and Depth of Cut
Step 1: Set blade at approximately 10
0
angle as shown on the blade angle adjusting plate
(Figure 9.6) by rotating center hand wheel control.
Step 2: Align leading edge of blade EVEN with BOTH conditioner runners. It is quite
helpful to use a at washer, a large coin or the blade adjusting tool (Part No. 84-01100) to
check this alignment as shown below.
WARNING!
Use caution as blade is sharp.
Note: If blade is even with both runners, the majority of the blade will be about 0.08" below
the runner as shown in Figure 9.4. Since a 0.08" cut would normally be quite a heavy
cut, turn the hand wheel counter-clockwise to raise the blade slightly. (With a new 5" wide
blade, 4 turns of the hand wheel is equal to approximately 0.08").
