VBASOverview
TheVirtualBroadbandAccessServer(VBAS)isnotphysicalequipmentbutaprotocol
standard,whichisdevelopedbyChinaTelecom.TheVBASisusedtosolvetheproblem
ofwide-banduseridentier.WhentheBroadbandAccessServer(BAS)getsuser
identierbyinquiringcorrespondingrelationshipbetweenMACofusersdialingtothe
switchandport,thensendsusername,passwordandidentierinformationtoRADIUS,it
candeterminethepositionoftheuser.
Layer2communicationmodeisimplementedbetweenBASandswitches,thatis,
informationqueryandresponsedatapacketsofVBASareencapsulatedintoEthernet
dataframesoflayer-2directly,anduseprotocolnumber0x8200foridentication.
Note:
OnlytrustportscanreceiveVBASpacketsandVBASresponsepacketsonlycanbesent
fromtrustports.
PortconnectingtousernetworkiscalledcascadeportandportconnectingtoBASserver
