Planning Aastra 400 DECT systems as of R1.0
syd-0457/1.0 – R1.0 – 10.2012
Tip:
The local network interfaces of nodes can be prioritised for each route
(CM_3.1.6 Use node network interfaces first). This allows outgoing calls of
DECT cordless phones to be routed primarily via the systems own net-
work interfaces, thereby saving VoIP resources.
Radio units on several nodes
In an AIN with radio units on several nodes, users can operate their cordless phones
with the same call number within the radio coverage area of each node, without
registering there specially (Roaming). The coverage areas of the radio units on the
various nodes can, but must not, overlap each other. However, a handover is not
supported since both systems do not run synchronously.
Notes
The radio units on the nodes should not be configured in the same
location area. Otherwise cordless system phones, which change from
the coverage area of one node to the coverage area of another node,
do not reregister under certain circumstances (especially if the cover-
age areas overlap each other). (Note: (Cordless phones 9d24 never
reregister). Without registration the phones are called, but no conver-
sations can be held.
Cordless phones 9d23 and some cordless GAP phones do not support
the switchover to another location area. You can only operate an AIN
in the coverage area of a node.
Tip:
Re-registration can also be activated manually. On cordless phones
Office 135 and Office 160 with a long click on the digit 1 ("Long-click 1")
and on cordless phones Aastra 600d and Aastra 602d with ("Long-click
2").
Note: "Long-click" must be performed several times if other DECT systems
are still registered on the phone.
Offline satellite operation mode
The cordless phones are registered with the master server in regular AIN operation
mode. For them to be also used in offline mode, the cordless phones must also be
registered in satellite offline mode on the DECT system. It is advisable to register
the cordless phones using another system than the one in the master server
(example System B), and to configure them in the cordless phone menu System =
Auto so they register automatically with the active system.
