Planning Aastra 400 DECT systems as of R1.0
syd-0457/1.0 – R1.0 – 10.2012
The field strength on the test phones is displayed in dBμV (see Fig. 23). The field
strength is indicated in dBm on other systems (for instance on Aastra 600d phones
on OpenMobility). The conversion formula is as follows: dBμV = dBm + 107. You can
use the table below to compare the values.
Tab. 2 Field strength in dBμV and dBm
5. 4 Installing the Definitive System
See chapter "DECT radio units and cordless phones" in the Aastra 415/430 or Aastra
470System Manual.
5. 5 Re-measuring
As soon as the definitive system is installed, test measurements should be carried
out in handover overlap border areas and compared with the results of the plan-
ning (see "On-site measuring", page 34). For this purpose, the handset is switched
over to the "Show Measurement Mode" (see "Show Measurement Mode", page 66).
If the handover display is also switched on (see "Show Handover Mode", page 67),
the cordless phone refers visually and acoustically to a handover. Critical areas
should be discussed with the customer.
Call quality [dBμV] [dBm]
Very good speech quality > 54 > -53
Good speech quality 45 ... 54 -62 ... -53
Satisfactory: Call interruptions may occur 35 ... 44 -72 ... -63
Poor: Frequent call interruptions 25 ... 34 -82 ... -73
Cannot be used: No stable connection possible. < 25 < -82
