4.4.1 Main features
screen with 1 line x 16 characters,
- 10 programmable keys with indicators:LCD icons for the M740 set
- LEDs for the M740E set.
The last four programmable keys are for managing calls by name (in set software release 5.2A
and later).
"Hands free" function, full duplex with LED indicator,
mute function with LED indicator,
message/call indicator lamp,
direct voice mail recall by R key (in standby),
call logs (10 outgoing calls, 50 incoming calls),
internal directory for 20 numbers,
user-friendly navigator,
specific headset connector (remove cap),
handset earpiece capsule for the hard of hearing.
4.4.2 Advantages of the M7xx range
full duplex hands free (as opposed to half duplex),
display with icons for programmable keys indication,
message/call indicator lamp,
direct voice mail recall by R key (in standby),
private directory of 20 records with associated function: display caller's name,
log for 10 LNR,
call log (50 incoming calls),
directory key,
possibility of downloading and backing up the directories, logs and set parameters via the
downloading kit,
volume adjustment on micro-headset,
possibility for handset supervision in micro-headset mode,
possibility of programming the hold and store/redial functions by MMC.
4.4.3 Differences from the old range
160 programmable keys rather than 20 (M420E).
No external ringing interface (M420E).
No Minitel/MODEM connector (M420E).
No audio interface (LF jack) (M420E).
