5.1.2.5 Working principle of the i740/i740N/i760/i760E/i780 editor
The editor is used to enter values in the form of digits, and a dot "." with the "*" key on the dial
keypad for IP addresses. These values can contain 1 to 12 digits maximum, depending on the
associated function.
PRINCIPLES
Field entry prompt
After an entry field has been selected, a flashing cursor is displayed:
- on the first position of the empty field to be filled in
- on the empty position of the next character to be filled in
- instead of the character that has just been cleared
To clear a field
Entered characters are cleared from right to left, by successively pressing the .key
Pressing this key clears the character located to the left of the cursor.
To modify a field
A field is partially or totally modified by firstly clearing the digits with the key and then by
entering the new ones.
To enter a dot in IP addresses
The dot "." required to enter IP addresses is entered manually. The IP address consists of 4
groups of 1 to 3 digits maximum, with each group separated by a dot.
Manual insertion
: pressing inserts a dot, when consistency allows it (at least 1 digit must
be entered beforehand).
