NOTICE!
Whenever DC = High is used in the circuit examples for safety digital outputs, the following measure
from ISO 13849-1 [10] is used in the DX581-S module: Cross monitoring of output signals and inter-
mediate results within the logic (L) and temporal and logical software monitor of the program flow and
detection of static faults and short circuits (for multiple I/O).
Whenever DC = Medium is used in the circuit examples for safety digital outputs, any of the measures
for output devices with DC ³ 90 % can be used from ISO 13849-1 [10].
DANGER!
The reachable SIL CL (IEC 62061), SIL (IEC 61508 ed. 2) and PL (ISO 13849) levels for safety out-
puts of DX581-S module are only valid if the parameter Detection = “On”. If the parameter Detection =
“Off” then contact ABB technical support to obtain proper reachable SIL CL, SIL and PL levels.
