Draining the gearbox, axes 5-6 (IRB 2400/10/16)
The procedure below details how to drain the oil from the wrist unit.

change. Place a sign that clearly indicates that
service work is ongoing.

WARNING
Handling gearbox oil involves several safety
risks. Before proceeding, please read the
safety information in the section Safety risks
during work with gearbox lubricants (oil or
grease) on page 39.

Run the upper arm to a horizontal position and
turn axis 4 to the calibration position.

Shown in the figure Location of oil
plugs, axes 5-6 (IRB 2400/10/16) on
page 93.
Remove the oil plugs in the wrist.4

Turn axis 4 through 90° so that the oil plug on
the side of the wrist is pointing downwards.

Then turn axis 4 another 90°.6
Let the remaining oil run out through the hole
on the tilt housing.
