Why ACL CSC400 fails to attempt ignition?
    • D
Dr. Autumn Archer MDAug 3, 2025
The ACL Controller might fail to attempt ignition due to several reasons: * A blown fuse: Check if the display is on. If it's off, replace the fuse with a 6.3A max fuse. * Low supply voltage: Ensure the input voltage is at least 11.5VDC when measured with a voltmeter. * Poor power connections: Inspect all connections on the terminal strips for short circuits and ensure wires are tightly secured and screws are tight. * POC terminal not closed: Verify that 12VDC is measured on both the POC+ and POC- terminals.

How to fix a weak or erratic spark on ACL CSC400 Controller?
    • L
      Lisa BassAug 23, 2025
A weak or erratic spark on the ACL Controller can be caused by: * Incorrect gap setting: The gap setting may be too wide, or the rod isn't cut to a point. Shorten the gap to approximately 1/8" (3.175mm) and recut the ignitor rod tip. * Defective ignition cable: Check the ignition cable's continuity. The multimeter should read close to zero ohms; replace the cable if it doesn't. * Poor ground connection: Ensure good, thick ground connections are made at the CSC400 and at the ignitor tip. * Contaminated ignitor rod or pilot nozzle: Remove the pilot assembly, clean the rod and nozzle, and reinstall.

What to do if the ACL CSC400 attempts ignition but the pilot doesn't light?
    • M
      Misty SchwartzNov 10, 2025
If the ACL Controller attempts ignition but the pilot doesn't light, consider the following possible causes: * Incorrect fuel gas supply: The pilot fuel gas supply may be too high or too low. It should be set at 5 pounds. * Incorrect gap setting: The gap setting on the ignitor/flame rod might not be correct. It should be approximately 1/8" (3.175mm), and the rod tip needs to be cut to a sharp point. * Defective ignition cable: Check the continuity through the ignition cable; it should read close to zero ohms. Replace the cable if it doesn't. * Poor ground connection: Ensure good, thick ground connections are made at the CSC400 and at the Pilot/burner valve. * Pilot solenoid failure: Check the supplied power to the solenoid and the gas flow through it. * Plugged pilot orifice: ...
