First, identify the controller type in the 5DX. The below figures illustrate the two types of
Advantech Industrial PC’s that are addressed by the Windows XP Professional upgrade
procedure. Select either the Install Windows XP Professional and Perform a 5DX Software
Restore on the Advantech 1.0 Ghz IPC Controller Advantech procedure for the 1.0 Ghz IPC
Controller (Figure 1) or the Install Windows XP Professional and Perform a 5DX Software
Restore on the Advantech 2.8 Ghz IPC Controller procedure for the Advantech 2.8 Ghz IPC
Controller (Figure 2) to upgrade your specific 5DX controller.
