Configuring the Digital Control Port
You can configure the Digital Control pins to perform five different
functions. These pins can be programmed using either the front panel
or SCPI commands.
Bi-directional Digital I/O
Each of the seven pins can be configured as general-purpose digital
inputs and outputs. The polarity of the pins can also be configured.
Front Panel: SCPI Command:
Select System\DigPort, then
Pin<#> where # is the pin number.
Select Function, then Digital I/O.
Go back one level, select Polarity,
then either Positive or Negative.
To send digital data to the pins,
select System\DigPort\Data.
Select Data Out and enter the data
as a binary number.
To configure the pin function:
DIG:PIN<#>:FUNC DIO
To configure pin polarity:
DIG:PIN<#>:POL <pol>
To send data to the pins:
DIG:OUTP:DATA <data>
Digital Input
Each of the seven pins can be configured as digital input only. The
polarity of the pins can also be configured.
Front Panel: SCPI Command:
Select System\DigPort, then
Pin<#> where # is the pin number.
Select Function, then Digital In.
Go back one level, select Polarity,
then either Positive or Negative.
To read the data from the pins,
select System\DigPort\Data.
The input data is displayed as a
binary number in the Data In field.
To configure the pin function:
DIG:PIN<#>:FUNC DINP
To configure pin polarity:
DIG:PIN<#>:POL <pol>
To read the pin data:
DIG:INP:DATA?
External Trigger
Each of the seven pins can be configured as either trigger inputs or
trigger outputs. The polarity of the pins can also be configured. When
you program trigger polarity, POSitive means a rising edge and
NEGative means a falling edge.
