Akai QZ-503R Series

Recorded songs can be divided into 2 tracks and assigned
new track numbers.
This function is convenient for dividing a track when more
than one song is recorded within it, or for creating a starting
point within a song.

1 During playback, press the DIVIDE button at the
point that you want to divide the song.
“DIVIDE?” will appear on the FL display, and approxi-
mately 4 seconds of the song from the division point
will be repeatedly played back.
2 The division point can be moved forward or back-
ward by turning the JOG dial.
Fine adjustment of the division point is possible within
a range of +127 steps and -128 steps.

3 Press the DIVIDE button.
“DIVIDE!” will appear on the FL display, and playback
will start from the newly assigned TRACK number.
Mi To cancel the divide mode at any time during opera-
tion, press the CLEAR button.
Note:
e When a new track number is added, the track numbers of
the following tracks will be automatically carried forward.
® Track titles will not be assigned to newly divided tracks.
Tracks can be joined to the track in front and assigned one
track number.
This function is convenient for joining short recorded seg-
ments into one segment.

1 Press the 10 key buttons to select the number of
the track to be joined.
Ex : When joining tracks 2 and 3.
e Press the 3 button.
Playback of track 3 will start.
2 Press the JOIN/MOVE button to select “JOIN?”.
“JOIN?” will appear on the FL display. Each time the
button is pressed the display will move between “JOIN?”
and “MOVE?”
3 Press the SET button.
The numbers of the tracks to be joined will flash on the
FL display.

4 Press the JOIN/MOVE button.
“JOIN!” will appear on the FL display and playback will
start from the beginning of the new track number 2.
i To cancel the join mode at any time during operation,
press the CLEAR button.
Note:
@ When tracks are joined, the track numbers of the following
tracks will be advanced automatically.
© Complete the joining procedure before playback of the join-
ing track finishes.
© If the track is short, use the JOG dial to select the track
number, and carry out joining during the stop mode.
