Handling the MD
As the MD disc is inserted in a cartridge, there is no need to
worry about getting it dirty or leaving fingerprints on it when
handling. However, as dirt on the cartridge or bending may
cause improper operation please be sure to observe the fol-
lowing cautions.
Do not touch the inside disc with your hand
Never attempt to open the shutter part by force. This may
cause the shutter to not close properly, or break it.

Clean dust or dirt on the cartridge by wiping with a soft cloth.
Compact disc care

© Hold the compact disc by the outer edge only, supporting
.it at the center hole area with your index finger if neces-
sary. Avoid touching the unprinted side of the disc.
© Do not attach adhesive tape etc., to the disc.
Disc cleaning
© Dust, dirt or fingerprints on the discs recorded side will
hamper the laser operation and cause a decrease in sound
quality. To clean dirt buildup, wipe the disc with soft (com-
mercial sold silicone cloth etc).
Do not use volatile chemical substances such as benzine
or thinner etc., as this will damage the disc’s surface.
| Disc and cassette tape storage
After using the disc or tape , always return it to its plastic
case,
The following places are not suitable for storage.
e Places subject to direct sunlight.
© Places subject to heat from heating appliances such as
stoves etc..
© Piace subject to high humidity.
e Places subject to high temperature such as the inside of a
car etc..
