Features & Functionality
3.5.3.3 - External Start (FK)
External Start trigger mode is a combination of external and internal trigger. At the start of the capture process the
cameraisrunningtheexternalkeepcleancyclewaitingofatriggerpulsetobeappliedtotheExternalTriggerinput.On
receivingthetriggertheexposurestarts.Theexposureperiodisdenedbytheuser.Oncompletionoftheexposure
period, the camera performs the number of vertical shifts, dened by the sub-area height (set by the user) and then
again, wait for the exposure period before the next set of vertical shifts. This process is repeated until the number in the
series has been captured at which point the readout starts.
3.6 - SHUTTERING
The iXon range of cameras can be supplied with a built in shutter. The shutter is intended for taking background images
and protecting the camera from excessive light and dust. It is not designed to operate at the high frame rates the camera
is capable off. Under normal operation the shutter should be set to Permanently Open and the shutter open and close
times to 0 seconds. If you do need the shutter to open and close automatically during your experiment then set the
opening and closing times to 50ms.
