• Never start to use the vehicle without an air filter.
• Remove the screws 1 from the box in air, then pull the
drawer to access the air filter.
• Take o the air filter.
Main work
• Position the clean air filter.
• Close the drawer in the air box and tighten the screws 1
Only press the air filter to dry it, never wring it out.
Engine damages
Unfiltered intake air has a negative eect on the service life of the engine. Dust and dirt will
enter the engine without an air filter.
Do not clean the air filter with fuel or petroleum
since these substances attack the foam. Wash the
air filter thoroughly in special cleaning liquid and
allow it to dry properly.

Preparatory work
• Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand.
Main work
• Remove screws 1.
• Take o the engine sprocket cover.
Main work
• Position the engine sprocket cover.
• Mount screws 1 but do not tighten yet.
Guideline
Screw, engine sprocket cover M6 5 Nm (3,6 lbf ft)
