Maintaining the engine
The engine manufacturer has prepared an op-
erating manual for the engine. The manual
contains all mandatory maintenance require-
ments and warranty conditions for the engine.
If warranty work at the engine is required, con-
tact your authorised service centre.
To ensure a long service life of the engine, suf-
ficient engine cooling is required.
Always keep the air filter clean.
Maintaining the air filter
Warning
There is a fire and explosion risk due to
cleaning agents.
Never clean the air filter with flammable
solvents.

1. Turn the locking switch(1) anticlockwise
and remove the air filter cover (2).
2. Carefully remove the air filter from the air
filter cover (2).
3. Clean air filter (e.g. with compressed air) or
replace the air filter.
4. Place the air filter into the air filter
cover(2). Make sure that the air filter rests
evenly and without ripples.
5. Reinsert the air filter cover (2) into the en-
gine enclosure.
6. Press on the air filter cover(2) and turn the
locking switch (1) clockwise.
For this, observe the attached operating in-
structions of the engine.
Checking the battery and the
charger
Warning
A damaged or defective battery may smoke
or catch on fire and cause life-threatening
injuries or major damage to property.
Do not use or charge a damaged or de-
fective battery.
Dispose of a damaged or defective bat-
tery immediately in accordance with local
regulations.
Follow the instructions in the chapters
“Safe handling of the battery” and “Safe
handling of the charger“.
Warning
Danger of electric shock when the charger
is plugged in.
Unplug the power cord from the power
outlet before cleaning or checking the
charger.
Check the battery and the charger for visible
damage. Immediately replace a damaged bat-
tery or a damaged charger.
Check the status of battery and charger (see
chapter Charging the battery).
Observe the operating instructions of all batter-
ies, all chargers and the operating instructions
of the engine manufacturer.
Checking the battery compartment on the
device
Check if the battery is correctly engaged in the
battery compartment. Check if the release but-
ton in the battery compartment releases the
battery correctly. Contact an authorised service
centre if this is not the case.
