Cannot Make an Outside Call
Step 1.
If you have Basic Service only, go on to Step 2. If you have an optional
Type I Feature Cartridge, be sure the voice terminal is not restricted from
originating outward calls. To make sure the voice terminal is not res-
tricted, refer to the Administration Manual to remove outward call res-
trictions from the voice terminal. After you have removed the restriction,
pick up the handset and dial an outside number.

Step 2.
Check the Tone/Pulse switch on the control unit to make sure that it is
set correctly.

If your local telephone company is equipped for touch-tone dialing, set
the Tone/Pulse switch to Tone.
If your local telephone company is equipped for rotary dialing only, set

the Tone/Pulse switch to Pulse.
If you do not know what type of signaling your system should send, find
out from your local telephone company and set the switch accordingly.
Then dial an outside line.
