Basic Trouble Tests
GENERAL TESTS
When the symptom does not appear in the Symptom-Based Tests listed above and
when the cause of trouble has not yet been found, make the following general test of
your system.
Step 1.
Look at the red WARNING light in the upper left corner of the control
unit.
Warning:
Remove control unit ac power (using the control unit
On/Off switch) before inserting or removing a car-
tridge. If you are using an auxiliary power unit,
unplug it from the ac outlet.
IF
A cartridge is installed and the red
WARNING light is flashing or on,
A cartridge is not installed and the
red WARNING light is on,
THEN
Turn the control unit off (using
the control unit
On/Off switch and
unplugging the auxiliary power
unit, if used, from the ac outlet).
Remove and replace each cartridge
securely. Turn the control unit
back on. (The control unit is reset
on application of power; resetting
may correct the trouble.) If the
trouble remains, go on to Step 2.
Momentarily turn the control unit
off and back on (using the control
unit
On/Off switch and unplug-
ging the auxiliary power unit, if
used, from the ac outlet). (The
control unit is reset on application
of power; resetting may correct the
trouble.) If the trouble remains,
go on to Step 2.
Note:
Steps 2 through 8 should be followed for each voice terminal power
supply you have connected to your system.
