Trouble on an Accessory
TEST C: FOR ACCESSORIES NOT ATTACHED TO A VOICE
TERMINAL
Locate the appropriate test (on the following pages) for the accessory in trouble.
Power Failure Transfer Telephone (PFTT)

Caution:
Disconnecting the control unit from the ac power outlet
to test the PFTT will interrupt normal service to all
outside lines.
Note:
The PFTT can be fully tested only if at least one outside line to
the local telephone company equipment is working.
Make certain that the PFTT is plugged into one of the Power Fail Lines
jacks on the Type III Cartridge in the control unit.
Unplug the control unit from the ac power outlet.
Warning:
Unplug the control unit power cord from the ac outlet
before inserting or removing a cartridge.
Make certain that the Type III Cartridge is properly inserted into the con-
trol unit. This can be accomplished by removing the Type III Cartridge
from the control unit, then pushing the cartridge slowly and steadily into
the control unit until the ridge on the front of the cartridge is aligned
with the front panel of the control unit.
Lift the PFTT handset and try to make an outside call.
