Check hose connections for leaks and seal or replace them as needed. Also, inspect connecting hoses in the secretion canister compartment for breaks or kinks. If secretion has penetrated the suction pump, have it cleaned by a service technician.

Finally, the overflow safety might be closed; in this case, hang up the suction attachment, open the regulating valve, and tap the secretion canister to allow the floats of the overflow safety to drop back into their resting position.
