Treble/Bass
You can adjust the Treble and Bass settings by
turn ing t he control kno b. The changed set tings
only apply fo r the a ud io source t ha t is acti ve at
t he ti me . This allows you to adju st t he soun d set -
t ings for each audio sou rce se parately .
Balance/fader (Sound focus)
- Adjusting the sound distribution to the left or
right :
press the control kno b. Tur n the control
knob to the left or right to t he des ired posi t ion .
- Adjusting the sound distribution to the front
or rear:
press the cont rol knob again . Turn the
contro l knob t o the left or right to t he desired
pos it io n.
- Adjusting the sound distribution using the
MMI touch* :
move your finger on t he MMI
touch cont rol pan el in th e desire d dir ect ion.
Sound effects
Selec t a nd confi rm a Focus se tt ing:
- All : all speakers in t he vehi cle ar e active (sym-
me t rical so und dist ribu t ion) .
System settings
- Front: on ly t he spea ke rs in the fron t of the ve-
hicle are active.
- Rear* : on ly t he speakers in the rear of the vehi -
cle are act ive.
- Movie* : t he spe akers in t he cen t er of th e vehi-
cle are act ive.

- Off : the 3D effect is switched off.
- Low: the 3D effect is optimized, fo r exam ple
for au dio books .
- Medium: t he 3D effect is optimize d for all sour -
ces .
- High: the 3 D effe ct is at t he maximum .
Subwoofer*
Turn the contr ol knob t o adj ust t he subwoofer .
Speed dependent volume control
Turn the cont rol knob to adjust the playba ck vol-
ume to the noise ins ide the ve hicle.
AudioPilot*
When thi5 function i5 5witched on ~ . t he play-
back volume is automat ically adjusted to the lev-
el of nois e inside t he vehicle (dynamic road nois e
compensation) .

Adjusting the volume
The volum e of an audio source or a system mes -
sage (for exampl e, from the voice recognition
sys tem*) can be adjusted directly while the
sound is playing using the On/Off knob.
- Increasing or decreasing the volume : turn the
