Care and cleaning
General information
Regular, proper care helps to maintain your vehi-
cle's value. It can also be a requirement when
submitting warranty claims for cor rosion damage
and paint defects on the body.
The requ ired cleaning and care products can be
obtained from an authorized Audi dea ler or au -
thor ized Service Facility. Read and follow the in-
structions for use on the packaging .

- Using clea ning and care products incorrectly
can be dangero us to your hea lth .
- Always store clean ing and care prod ucts out
of reach of children to reduce the risk of poi-
soning .
@ For the sake of the environment
- Prefe rab ly purchase environmenta lly-friend-
ly cleaning prod ucts.
- Do not dispose of leftover cleaning and care
products with house hold t rash.
Car washes
The longer that deposits such as insects, bird
droppings, tree sap or road salt remain on the ve-
hicle, the more the surface can be damaged. High
temperatures such as those caused by sun light
increase the damag ing effect .
Before washing, rinse off heavy depos its with
plenty of water.
Stubborn deposits such as bird droppings or tree
sap are best removed with plenty of wate r and a
microfibe r cloth.
Also, wash t he underside of your vehicle once
road sa lt stops being used for the seaso n.
Pressure washers
When washing your vehicle wit h a pressu re wash-
er, always follow the operating instr uctions pro-
vided wit h t he press ure washer. This is espe cially
important in rega rd to the pressure and sp raying
distance . Do not aim the sp ray directly at the

seals on the side windows, doo rs, lids or the sun-
roof* or at tires, rubber hoses, insulat ing mater i-
al, sensors* or camera lenses* . Keep a distance of
at least 16 in (40 cm).
Do not remove snow and ice with a pressure
washe r.
Never use cone nozzles or high press ure nozzles .
The wate r temperatu re mus t not be above 140 °F
(60 °() .
Automatic car washes
Spray off the vehicle befo re washing.
Make sure that the windows and roof* are closed
and the windsh ield wipers are off. Follow instruc -
tions from the car wash ope rato r, especially if
the re are accesso ries attached to your vehicle.
If possible, use car washes that do not have
brushes .
Washing by hand
Clean th e vehicle starting from t he top and wor k-
ing down using a soft sponge or cleaning brush.
Use solven t-free cleaning products.
Washing vehicles with matte finish paint by
hand
To avoid da maging the paint when washi ng, first
remove du st and large part icles from your vehi-
cle. Insects, grease spots and finger prints are
best removed with a special cleane r for matte
finish paint.
Apply t he produ ct using a microf iber cloth . To
avoid damag ing t he paint surface, do not use t oo
much pressure.
Rinse t he vehicle t horoug hly with wate r. Then
clean using a neutra l shampoo and a soft micro-
fiber cloth .
Rinse t he vehicle thoroug hly aga in and let it air
dry. Remove any wate r residue using a chamois .
