4.2.4 Temperature Increase Downstream
from Evaporator, Determining Malfunc‐
tion
The required cooling output is reached during the cooling output
test however, the air leaving the evaporator is too warm. Refer to
⇒ “4.2.2 Cooling Output, Checking“, page 81
– Clamp off both coolant hoses from engine to heater core of A/C unit e.g. using Hose Clamps, Up to 40
mm -3093- . Refer to ⇒ “5.14 Heater Core“, page 144 .
– Repeat cooling performance test. Refer to ⇒ “4.2 A/C Unit, Checking Cooling Output“, page 79 .
– Read the measured values from the left footwell vent temperature sensor -G261- , from the right footwell
vent temperature sensor -G262- and from the evaporator vent temperature sensor -G263- using -
VAS5051B- under "Guided Fault Finding."
• The measured values from left footwell vent temperature sensor and right footwell vent temperature
sensor differ by less than 3 °C from the measured value from the evaporator vent temperature sensor.
Refer to -VAS5051B- under "Guided Fault Finding."
