Next steps
After the ESXi software is loaded on rebooting the server, do the following:
Configure ESXi network settings. For more information, see
Configuring ESXi Network
Settings on page 30.
Add the license key and install the license. For more information, see
Adding the license key
for server recovery or software remastering on page 65.
The license key is located on the server lid. If this is a server replacement, move the lid from
the original server to the newly installed server.
Enable the Services Port. For more information, see Services Port Configuration on page 46.
Replacing the host server
About this task
In the event of server failure, you may need to replace the host server on Avaya Converged
Platform 130 Appliance.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have the following:
Console VGA monitor
USB Keyboard
Correct ESXi software downloaded from PLDS. See PSN027079u- Avaya Converged
Platform 130 Dell

R640 Customized Image of VMware ESXi 6.5 U2
Latest Avaya certified BIOS/FW update for ACP 130. See PSN027078u- Avaya Converged

Procedure
1. Import the drives from the failed server. For more information, see Dell
®
R640 FRU
Replacement Process.
2. Do one of the following:
If importing the drives is successful, reboot the server. Replacement server now has all
previous configurations of ESXi.
If applicable, configure the iDRAC for remote access and alarming.
If importing the drives is not successful, configure the RAID array. For more information,
see Dell

Update the BIOS/Firmware of the platform. For more information, see PSN027078u-

R640 Avaya Certified BIOS/FW Update.
3. Enable and configure iDRAC on the replacement server. For more information, see Avaya
Converged Platform 130 Series iDRAC9 Best Practices.
