Depending on your system and the version running, you upgrade the system components through either the
Management Console or the Agent, as follows:

In a multi-Engine configuration, all the Engines (all Storage Controllers) and the Avid NEXIS | SDA, if
applicable, must be running the same version before the system can resume normal operation. Upgrading an
Engine or the Avid NEXIS | SDA causes it to reboot; plan to do upgrades during a maintenance window with no
client I/O occurring.
Upgrading an Avid NEXIS System, With or Without a Avid NEXIS | SDA
To upgrade an Avid NEXIS | PRO or any other Avid NEXIS Engine, including the Avid NEXIS | SDA, you can
use the Management Console, System Settings page. This lets you upgrade all the system components through
one interface and one operation. This is the recommended method for upgrading a multi-Engine Avid NEXIS
system.

Do not upgrade Engines or Controllers individually on the Engines or Storage Controllers pages.
To upgrade an Avid NEXIS System:
1. On your local computer, download the new software from Avid, using your support account.
2. Unzip the software on your computer.
3. In the Management Console, click System Settings under the Advanced heading.
4. On the System Settings page, click the Upgrade link.
