FigureA-2showsthatthebinarytransmissionhasthreeindependentoptions.
Theseoptionsareindependentlyselectedandareusedtocustom-configurethe
serialdataformat.TheSuppress Clear Dataoptionisapplicablewhenthesensor
isunobstructed.Whilethesensorisblocked,serialdataistransmitted;oncethe
sensorisunobstructed,the“clear”dataistransmittedonce,andthennofurtherdata
transmissionoccursuntilthesensorisagainblocked.TheSuppress Header option
willseriallytransmitthearraydatabytes.Thethreeheaderbytesarenottransmitted.
TheCompress Dataoptionaffectsthedatabytesforthemeasurementmodes
excludingtheALLmode.ExceptfortheALLmode,theanalysismodesusetwobytes
totransmittheappropriateinformation.Forcaseswherethesensorcannotprovidea
resultgreaterthan255,theCompress Dataoptionwillprovidethisdatainonebyte.
Asanexample,assumethatyouhavea48-channelsensorwithalastbeamblocked
of35andacontrollerIDof“B.”Assumetwobinaryformatoptions.Thefirstoptionis
thestandardBinary Transmissionformat.ThesecondformatwillusetheSuppress
HeaderandCompress Dataoptions.Thetwostringswouldbeasfollows:
