About video encoding modes
Video encoding modes specify how the color and luminan
ce information is encoded in the video signal.
In consumer displays, this is usually done by a limited 8-bit encoding mechanism. Your Coronis Fusion
10MP however, features 10-bit encoding enabling it to better match the DICOM dened grayscale range.
Such an extensive range is necessary to comply with the guidelines set forward by the latest medical
guidelines.
The available video encoding modes for your display are listed below.
Please note that the display controller connected to your display might not always sup-
port all these v ideo encoding modes.
Standard
This mode uses the standard 8 bit encoding
mechanism.
HDR1
This mode features 10-bit video encoding following
the High Dynamic Range (HDR) standard, usually
used on color displays.
