Pump or motor too noisy. Low hydraulic oil supply or wrong
viscosity.
Air in hydraulic oil.
Fill hydraulic reservoir with proper
oil.
Check for foamy oil. Tighten
connections, replace o-rings or
lines.
Hydraulic oil overheats. Replace filters and hydraulic oil.
Fill hydraulic reservoir to proper
level.
Inspect and clean cooler fins.
Adjust to specifications.
Replace oil with proper viscosity.
Reduce load.
No flow or pressure.
Hydraulic oil dirty or low supply.
Oil cooler dirty.
Relief valve improperly adjusted.
Incorrect hydraulic oil viscosity.
Excessive load.
Pump not receiving hydraulic oil.
Damaged line.
Any or all of the following:
- Replace dirty filters.
- Clogged inlet line.
- Clean reservoir breather
vent.
- Fill reservoir to proper level.
Replace line.
Hydraulic system pressure too
low.
External leak in system. Tighten connections and bleed
air from system.
Hydraulic pressure erratic.
Air in hydraulic oil.
Contamination in hydraulic oil.
Tighten connections, fill reservoir
to proper level, and bleed air from
system.
Replace dirty filter and system
hydraulic oil.
Slow hydraulic functions.
Hydraulic oil viscosity too high.
Low hydraulic oil supply.
Obstruction in line or line
damaged.
Hydraulic oil may be too cold or
should be replaced with proper
viscosity.
Fill hydraulic reservoir with proper
hydraulic oil.
Inspect lines. Replace parts if
necessary.
