7.4 Large leak detector
The dynamic large leak detector is specially designed to detect leaks in the hydrant system of an airport.
The fuel-filling vehicles are connected to the GLE system via a WLAN network. The data are exchanged
between the fuel-filling vehicles and the GLE system via an OPC server (OPC DA Version 2.0).
The delivery data are transmitted every second. When the office software detects a leak from the data,
it triggers an alarm.
Error messages
If the connection from the TCP/IP to the GLE control computer is interrupted, this is indicated by the
error symbol on the status line. The following entry is stored in the events window.
WinPC connection: TCP connection to WinPC interrupted.
Status symbols
The GLE status and the WLAN signal strength are displayed so that the operator is always aware of the
current connection status to the GLE server.
No read confirmation received from the GLE system.
Communication between the vehicle and the GLE system is OK.
Communication between the vehicle and the GLE system has been interrupted.
Possible reasons are, for example:
- Access to the GLE/OPC server is faulty.
- WLAN connection lost (see WLAN signal strength symbol).
- TCP/IP connection to the GLE control computer aborted (see error
messages).
