INITIALIZING COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE BE3-GPR
Review what we have done up to this point. You have loaded the software on your computer and you
have the Basler Electric directory with the BE3-GPR icon. You have also connected the BE3-GPR
unit to the computer, the system, and supplied operating power. Now you are ready to initialize
communications.
Initialize Communications
Select the BE3-GPR icon to start the BE3-GPR software program. A momentary dialog box (splash
screen) opens that displays the Basler Electric Logo, program application, and revision identification.
After the splash screen, the initial screen (Figure 5-1) is shown.

Pull down the Communications menu and select O
pen (Figure 5-2). This should open a Comm Port
screen like the one shown in Figure 5-3.
