Detailed Component Descriptions
Chapter 1: Introduction
Area Alarm Blank Module
The Area Alarm Blank Module reserves a space for future Area Alarm Modules
to be added.
Local Alarm
The Local Alarm is a stand-alone component of the MedPlus TotalAlert® Alarm
Network System.
The Local Alarm provides connections for monitoring up to 16 signals from
source equipment (see figure 1-13 on page 1–36).
Figure 1-13. Local Alarm
There are individual LED alarm indicators for each signal. When an alarm
occurs, the green Normal LED changes to light red, and the alarm sounds.
A Test key tests the LEDs and the audible alarm.
The Alarm Silence key silences the audible alarm. Following an alarm silence,
the red LED remains steadily lit to indicate that the alarm condition has not been
remedied. Each new alarm condition resounds the alarm.
