1.Ifalightningstrikecauseddamagetothemainrotorblades,dothe
following:
a.Removeandcleaneachmainrotorblade.
NOTE
Burnmarksonthemainrotorbladesmaybeverysmall.
b.Examineeachmainrotorbladeforsignsofarcingandburninginthe
tipareaandinsidediameterofthebladeboltbushings.
c.Ifamainrotorbladeshowssignsofarcing,dothefollowing:
(1)AttachaTHISCOMPONENTWASREMOVEDFROMSERVICE
BECAUSEOFALIGHTNINGSTRIKEtagonthemainrotorblade.
(2)Sendthemainrotorbladetoanapprovedfacilityforfurtherinspection
andrepair.
d.Examineeachmainrotorbladefordelamination.
2.Ifalightningstrikecauseddamagetothemainrotorhubassembly,
dothefollowing:
a.Examinethemainrotorhubassemblyforsignsofarcing,burning,
anddelamination.
b.Ifthemainrotorhubassemblyshowssignsofarcing,burning,or
delamination,dothefollowing:
(1)Removethemainrotorhubassembly.
(2)AttachaTHISCOMPONENTWASREMOVEDFROMSERVICE
BECAUSEOFALIGHTNINGSTRIKEtagonthemainrotorhub
assembly.

(3)Disassemble,clean,anddoadetailedinspectionofthemainrotor
hubassembly.
