IMPORTANT:
Do not use the vehicle with the side stand
lowered, or if it cannot be lifted correct-
ly (or if it will not stay up), otherwise the
side stand might not touch ground and
distract the rider with the resulting possi-
bility of losing control of the bike.
The cut-out ignition circuit from Benelli
Q.J. has been designed to ensure the
rider raises the side stand before putting
the motorcycle in movement. Therefore,
we ask that you check this system reg-
ularly, as described below, and have it
repaired by a Benelli dealer if it does not
operate correctly.
IGNITION CIRCUIT CUT-OUT
SYSTEM
The cut-out system for the ignition circuit
(including the side stand switch, neutral
gear smirch and clutch lever switch),
serves the following functions:
• To prevent starting with the gear in
and the side stand raised, with the
clutch lever not pulled.
• Switch off the engine with the gear
engaged and when the side stand is
lowered.

NOTE:
Always change down one gear at a time
and at the correct speed to avoid en-
gine overspeed and jamming of the rear
wheel.
SIDE STAND
The side stand is on the left side of the
vehicle. Lift or lower the side stand with
your feet while holding the vehicle in a
straight position.
NOTE:
The switch built into the side stand is part
of the ignition circuit cut-out system that
cuts out the ignition in certain situations.
