When fitting accessories, remember and
abide by these instructions in addition to
those provided in the chapter "Load".
• Never install accessories or carry loads
that can compromise motorcycle perfor-
mance. Before using any accessories,
make sure that they do not in any way
reduce clearance from the ground or
the minimum distance from the ground
when going around bends and that
they, do not limit suspension travel,
steering, or the operation of controls.
Also make sure that they do not obscu-
re lights or reflectors.
• Accessories fitted on the handlebar or
in the fork zone can create instability
to the uneven distribution of weight or
changes to aerodynamics.
When fitting accessories to the handle-
bar or in the fork zone, remember that
they have to be as light as possible and
in any case, reduced to a minimum.
• Large or bulky accessories can seriou-
sly compromise the stability of the
motorcycle, to aerodynamic effects.
The wind may try to lift the motorcycle,
or the motorcycle may become unsta-
ble under the action of cross wind.
This type of accessory may cause in-
stability, even when being overtaken or
when overtaking large vehicles.
• Certain accessories can move the rider
out of his or her normal riding position.
An incorrect position will limit the rider's
freedom of movement and can compro-
mise his or her ability to control the bi-
ke. For this reason, fitting such acces-
sories is not advised.
• Electrical accessories need to be
added with care. If electrical accessori-
es exceed the capacity of the electrical
system of the motorcycle, this may
cause failures, which may in turn lead
to dangerous losses in lighting or
engine power.
The tyres and rims supplied on the
motorcycle have been designed to
match the performance of the bike and to
provide the best possible combination of
manoeuvrability, braking power and
comfort. Different tyres and rims from the
ones supplied may not be suitable. See
the specific section for tyre specifica-
tions.
