BATTERY INSPECTION
To access the battery compartment:
1. Remove the rear then the front
saddle.
2. Remove the 4 screws “A” from the
side cover
3. Take out the battery “B”.
Cleaning the terminals
• Once the saddle has been removed,
check the condition of the terminals “C”
and “D”.
If they are oxidised, remove the battery
and clean them with a metal brush.
• After cleaning the terminals apply a
light layer of grease before refitting the
battery
Battery storage
The battery tends to discharge if not
charged on a regular basis.
When the battery is completely flat,
chemical reactions occur inside it that
will damage it irreparably.
If the vehicle is not being used for more
than 15 days, the battery must be
removed, charged monthly and stored in
a cool, dry place. If the battery is left on
the vehicle, disconnect the negative
electrode (Black).
If the above precautions are not taken,
the battery becomes damaged.
This damage is not covered by guaran-
tee.
A
We recommend using Petronas Tutela
protection grease.
Turn the key to“ ” before accessing
the battery.
When the battery is removed, the negati-
ve (Black) terminal must be disconnec-
ted before the positive one (Red). When
the battery is refitted, the positive pole
must be connected first.
Connect the nuts to the terminals.
Once the battery has been inspected,
refit the saddle following the steps in
reverse order.
