Preparation
Purchase a 5 litre beer keg of your choice and allow it to rest for around two hours before
you use it to prevent excessive frothing when you tap into it.
Bear in mind that it can take around 15 hours for beer at a temperature of 22 – 24°C to
cool down to 2 – 10°C in the beer pump.
Cool the beer keg in the fridge fi rst to speed up the cooling process. This means
you also have the option of having a second beer keg on hand ready to be used
immediately.
Never cool beer kegs in a chest-type freezer! Cooling in a chest-type freezer
can cause beer kegs to burst. In addition, rapid chilling of beer results in a loss
of quality.
