2. To remove the seal plug, place the auxiliary tool beneath
the seal ring and press both handles together forcefully
until you have cut through the seal plug.
3. Once you have removed the seal plug, insert the universal
adapter into the keg.
The universal adapter can be reused once it has
been appropriately cleaned (see the "Cleaning"
chapter). Remove it before disposing of the emp-
ty beer keg!
4. Then tap into the beer keg in the manner described in the next section "Tapping into
the Beer Keg and Inserting it into the Beer Pump".
The lower half of the seal which drops into the beer has no effect on the taste
and is harmless to health.
Tapping into the Beer Keg and Inserting it into the Beer Pump
CAUTION!
 Allow the keg to rest for around two hours before you tap into it to prevent excessive
frothing when you tap into it.
 Before tapping into the beer keg, make sure that the lid of the keg does not have any
dents in it! This is the only way to ensure that the mount for the tapping sword can
engage on the edge of the lid!
1. Prepare the keg for tapping (see the previous section "Removing the Beer Keg Seal
Plug"). Also note the manufacturer's instructions on the keg.
If you have a carbonated keg, skip this section and the following section and continue
with the "Tapping into and Inserting a Carbonated keg" section.
2. Dip the tapping sword into cold, clear water for a short time.
3. Place the tapping sword vertically onto the seal plugs or
into the opening of the universal adapter in the middle of
the keg and press it forcefully and swiftly down into the
beer keg until its mount locks into place on both sides of
the keg with an audible click.
4. Make sure that the pressure regulator of the beer pump is
at its limit stop in the – position, the tap handle is vertical
and the beer pump is switched off (switch position 0).
