Internet function
Internet function
Connect the device with a WLAN router at home,
a hotspot in a hotel or something similar like a
mobile computer and use the Internet function.
Note for France:
The WLAN function of this device must only
be used inside of buildings in France because
other services could be interfered with out-
side of buildings.
The Internet menu provides many means of com-
munication for the road – always stay informed via
Internet telephone (VoIP), e-mail, web browser or
radio. Load and enjoy short contributions from
radio and television any time and anywhere (pod-
casts).
Note:
You can also use the Internet functions if the
device is connected with a cell phone via
Bluetooth if it supports the "DUN" Bluetooth
profi le (Dialup Networking Profi le) (ch. "Blue-
tooth function (telephone)").
Note that an Internet connection via cell
phone may incur additional and very high
expenses.
Use a suitable connection (e.g. UMTS) when
transferring large volumes of data (e.g. Inter-
net radio).

Distraction from the traffi c can cause
accidents
Do not use the functions if you are the driver. It is
allowed to use the applications while the vehicle
is standing and the engine is switched off.
Touch the symbol in the Infotainment
menu.
If the navigation is active, the mes-
sage Navigation will be stopped. Con-
tinue? appears.

Touch the Yes button to end the navigation.
The Internet menu is displayed.

Confi guring the Internet
(WLAN settings)
Touch the symbol.
The WLAN Settings menu is dis-
played. Networks in the vicinity are
automatically searched. he visible
networks are listed by their names.
Connecting to a visible WLAN network
Touch an entry in the list to select the desired
network.
Touch the Options button.
Touch the symbol to connect the de-
vice with the network.
The default settings of the network are adopt-
ed and displayed.
If the network is encrypted, touch the encryp-
tion displayed repeatedly in the Security line
until the encryption used by the network is
selected.
If an encryption is selected, touch the empty
fi eld in the Key line and enter the network key
of the WLAN router using the keyboard. Con-
fi rm the key entered with OK.
Confi rm the performed WLAN settings with
OK.
The list shows in red lettering that the network
is connected with the device.
Touch the symbol to exit the
menu.
