Troubleshooting table
Problem Cause Measure
The device does not work or
does not work correctly.
The operating system is over-
loaded.
Perform a reset (ch. "Switching
on/off").
Reset the factory settings (ch.
"Settings"). All personal set-
tings will be deleted!
Reinstall the navigation software
using the enclosed CD/DVD.
The display remains dark if I
switch on the device.
The display may temporarily
loose its contrast after long and
heavy exposure to the sun and
high temperatures.
Place the device in the shade for
approximately 10 minutes and
switch it on again.
At very high temperatures, the
device switches off to protect
against overheating.
The battery is not suffi ciently
charged.
Fully charge the battery. (Ch.
"Charging the battery")
The message "No data record
available" is displayed.
No data record of a road map
has been selected for operating
the navigation.
Select the data record of the de-
sired road map. (Ch. "Selecting
a dataset")
The battery is empty, even
though I did not use the device
for some time.
The device continues to use a
small amount of energy if it is
switched off. Hence, the bat-
tery could be discharged after
a few days.
Fully charge the battery.
Always operate the device in the
vehicle together with the charg-
er cable via the cigarette lighter.
During short driving times,
the battery is not completely
charged.
The device does not respond
when I touch the buttons.
The operating system is over-
loaded.
Perform a reset (ch. "Switching
on/off").
The device does not output any
turn-by-turn directions via voice
output.
The voice instructions are deac-
tivated.
Activate the voice output in the
map/navigation settings.
The volume of the voice instruc-
tions is too low.
Increase the volume during a
voice output.
