User's Manual
Batteries
The batteries are supplied already
installed. In normal use, you can expect the
them to last for two or three months.
To replace the batteries:
1. Turn the remote upside down.
2. Slide off the battery compartment cover
and insert 4 AAA alkaline batteries.
Be sure to put them in correctly.
3. Slide the cover back on.
NOTE: When you remove the batteries
even for a few seconds, several unused keys
become visible again. These can be hidden
as follows:
Hiding the unused keys
1. Touch the AMP key at the lower left
corner of the remote and hold it down for
approximately six seconds. When you hear a
short series of three beeps, release the key.
The component selection area (eight keys at
the bottom) should be flashing. The remote is
now in an edit mode where you may hide or
show individual keys.
2. Touch the keys in the following list to
remove them from display. If you touch the
wrong key, touch it again and it will reappear.
REAR and the two arrow keys above.
CENTER and the two arrow keys above.
DELAY and only the UP arrow key above.
(The DOWN arrow acts as the MUTE key).

3. When finished, touch the AMP key again.
4. Hold the TAPE/TUNER button for six
seconds and remove the enter arrow key to
the right of the 0 key. Touch TAPE/TUNER
again to return to normal operation.
Note: You can hide
any
unused keys to
simplify your system.
Operating Range
The remotes approximate operating
range is 50 feet, at an angle up to 30 degrees
from the center of the Theater Grand
Processors front panel.
Turning on the Beep Sound
The remote control can be set to make a
Beep sound whenever you touch a key. To
turn this on for a particular component, just
touch the component key twice. A little
speaker symbol will appear in the upper right
of the remotes display. Touching the compo-
nent key again will turn it off.
The Learn Feature
CAUTION
Do not LEARN over any keys in the AMP
display or the number buttons in the TAPE/
TUNER display. These are for the Theater
Grand Processor and its Tuner. If you program
over them, they will be lost. You must make
sure the Sunfire remote is set to another
component and not to AMP during LEARN.
NEVER press RESET when the FUNC
switch is in the ON position, it will wipe out all
programming, and you will have no way to control
your Theater Grand Processor. The remote
would have to be sent back to the factory to be
reprogrammed.
ALWAYS switch the FUNC to OFF when
finished with the LEARN procedure. These
precautions also apply to the Macro and
Delete procedures.
The keys are marked with common
symbols, such as PLAY, STOP, REC, etc., but
they can learn any command.
Follow the example below to make the
Sunfire remote learn your VCRs Play Button:
1. Turn the Sunfire remote over and slide
the FUNC switch to ON.
2. Touch the LEARN key for two seconds
and the LEARN indicator will come on.
