3. Product description
3.1 Application
The extension set 1 687 010 398 for Bosch commer-
cial vehicle injectors makes it possible to replace the
injection chamber and clamping arm of the EPS200
with a convenient injection chamber and more flexible
mount for common rail injectors. The extension set also
includes connection accessories for common rail injec-
tors with a solenoid valve for commercial vehicles (re-
ferred to in the following as CRIN).
The new mount for injectors and the new injection
chamber can also be used for testing nozzle-and-
holder assemblies and nozzle holders of unit injectors
(referred to in the following as DHK/UI), common rail
injectors with a solenoid valve for passenger vehicles
(referred to in the following as CRI) and piezo common
rail injectors for passenger vehicles (referred to in the
following as CRI Piezo).
3.2 Prerequisites
R Tester for nozzle-and-holder assemblies and injec-
tors EPS200.
R The following is required for checking Bosch com-
mercial vehicle injectors on the EPS200:
$ Basic set 1 687 010 397 installed in the EPS200
(installation instructions 1 689 978 601).
R We recommend a user training course

on the test-
ing and repair of Bosch common rail injectors for
commercial vehicles (CRI/CRIN).
R Sound knowledge of how Bosch common rail
injectors for commercial vehicles (CRIN) work and
how to apply and create test procedures with the
EPS200 system software.
R Testing is only to be performed on cleaned and com-
plete Bosch common rail injectors for commercial
vehicles.
R Never fit and test any damaged and/or severely cor-
roded Bosch common rail injectors for commercial
vehicles.
i The extension set 1 687 010 393 must be fitted for
testing piezo common rail injectors.
