8 Connection technique
8.1 Notes
Energy storage device destruction by direct
connection to the 50/60 Hz mains power sup‐
ply (three phase or single phase net)!
The energy storage devices described here can only be operated with suita‐
ble drive controllers with variable output voltage and frequency (converter
mode) as specified by Rexroth.
Rexroth offers a wide range of ready-made cables and connectors which are
optimally adapted to match the products and meet a variety of requirements.
System functionality and operational reliability are only ensured when
Rexroth components are used.
The power wire cross-section was rated for cables by current carrying capaci‐
ty according to VDE 0298-4 and laying type B2 according to EN 60204-1 at
an ambient temperature of 40 °C.
Significant advantages of Rexroth's ready-made cables are:
● Ready-for-connection without any additional finishing
● Designed for continuous alternating bending stress
● Resistant against mineral oil, grease and bio-oil, silicone- and halogen-
free, low-adhesion
● Use of cables approved according to UL and CSA
● Flammability fulfills requirements of VDE0472-804
● Compliance with the EMC directives
● Degree of protection up to IP67
Connection cables are not included in the scope of delivery of the
BA1N energy storage device and must be ordered as separate
position (see chapter 8.2.2 ).
