1.3 Display of information
In order to enable you to work with your prod-
uct in a fast and safe way, uniform safety in-
structions, symbols, terms and abbreviations
are used. For a better understanding, they
are explained in the following sections.
1.3.1 Safety instructions
In this documentation, any sequence that en-
tails a risk of personal injury or damage to
equipment is preceded by safety instruc-
tions. The hazard avoidance measures de-
scribed must be observed.
Safety instructions are structured as follows:
• Warning symbol: alerts the user to the
hazard
• Signal word: identifies the severity of the
hazard, see Table 2 on page 66
• Type of hazard: identifies the type or
source of the hazard
• Consequences: describes the conse-
quences of failing to comply with the safety
instructions
• Precautions: indicates how the hazard
can be avoided
